My name is Kay Koch (pronounced Cook). As a leadership and empowerment coach, I help working moms break through barriers and maximize their earning potential. My programs focus on helping others find their voice and become leaders in their families, careers, and communities. When you work with me, you will learn how to get clarity, change your mindset, and be more efficient with your time.

I’m a busy working mom, with 3 amazing kiddos. I know how it feels to try and do it all.  I also work full-time as the Financial and Business Director of 10 dental clinics. At work I am responsible for managing finances, analyzing data, and strategically increasing profits.  In addition to growing my career in the corporate world, I also love personal growth and development. I am also passionate about growing in my faith and spirituality. I enjoy running and horseback riding.

On November 1, 2017 I received a cancer diagnosis. My children were just 1, 3, and 5 at the time. After having our second child and while nursing I found a lump. I immediately went in and had it checked out. At which time, my doctor explained to me that I had a galactocele. A galactocele is essentially an aneurysmal milk duct, it is not cancer and would not become cancer. I went on to have my third child and nursed him for a year as well. Upon weening, I found the same lump, in the same place. This time, my gut told me it was something different. I went in for my yearly check up and insisted on additional testing, even though we already thought we knew what it was.

On the day of my mammogram, they added on an ultrasound and had the radiologist come in to read the studies. She did not like what she saw and was able to perform a biopsy that day, Halloween 2017. The next day, I went to work and tried my best to be brave. They called me that day at 2:00 in the afternoon to advise that the biopsy confirmed a cancer diagnosis.

I have always identified as a “strong” person with an ingrained desire to lead and help others. Yet it took me a long time, and a cancer diagnosis, to find my path and my voice as a leader. I found that as I focused on my personal growth and development, I started to see real progress in my own life and career. Up until very recently, I joked that I didn’t know what I wanted to be when I grew up, and I found that many of my peers also feel the same way. Through my blog, podcast, and coaching I help others find their voice and become leaders in their families, careers, and communities.
